It still isn't running yet. We still have to tap the pan, and put in my new Honda Civic aluminum radiator. It will probably be later on this week before it is running. I will definately have vids. |

Little update. The BOV is installed and hooked up. I am waiting on the rest of the oil fittings to arrive, should be Friday at the latest. I was hoping to have it done by Saturday, but it is looking more like sometime next week. Kyle |

That custom aluminum radiator looks like it will last a long time. I can't tell from the pics, but is it the same size as stock or larger? |

Another, less awesome, update. I was driving home from the shop on Thursday the 18th after picking the car up. As soon as we had cranked the car the SES light came on as did the Oil Light. The SES was throwing the code 12, so no worry there, but the oil light was on. The car idled for approximately 20 minutes. We did use the oil sensor location for an oil feed for the turbo, so we figured the ECU wasn't reading it properly because i had never had a problem with it before. Well, the next night i went to take it home and i got 2 miles down the road and the engine locks up. I check the oil filter and the oil lines going to and from it are cool to the touch. The lines are hooked up properly. The engine is totally locked up. The turbo is good, as is the head. Thankfully the block had only cost me $50, now my extra block is getting rebuilt at the local machine shop, and it should be done early next week. So somehow while parked the oil pump decided to stop pumping. I got to drive to car a grand total of 2 miles while boosted. I never even got above 3500. The car sat and didn't run for over a month, the oil had been drained for the entire time also. The only thing i am thinking is that somehow the pump lost prime and never regained it. So now i have these nice wheels/tires, swaybar from an MK4, D&Slotted rotors, and a new radio. All for a car that will not move. Sweet. Edited by z34-5speed, Dec 30 2008, 02:05 AM.

I am sure you will get it going soon enough. Looking forward to that. I would be really pissed to have my engine lock up after all those performance mods and not even getting to have some fun with it first. |

I am sure you will get it all worked out soon. Might be a good ideal to run a good manual oil pressure gauge. Keep the faith. We all are pulling for you. I decided not to post the "I remember when story"

Got the car back on the road today. The car runs great. I had the bottom end rebuilt, with new everything, including oil pump. While they had it i had them bore the block .20 over, so i'm big-blockin it now. The oil light is still on, but i am reading 20-30psi at idle and 55-60 cruising. So i think the oil sensor is just in a bad location. The car is not boosting yet. I have everything hooked up on the turbo piping, i just have the wastegate disconneted on the turbo, so it won't boost. I am running on just the downpipe, so it's very loud and it drones very bad. I am planning on getting 2.5inch piping some time this week. I hope to get the fuel pump done sometime in the next few weeks, before i start boosting it. Kyle |
