Spotted this on ebay, was considering buying it as the only XFI cam I was able to find came with the whole motor, and they wanted $750 for it. Anyway here is the link -

Looks good?

You could always have a regular cam reground to XFi specs.
You can get those here............ 3-TECH

That eBay listing claims an increase of 13 mpg per gallon...that's absolute BS. I saw a 2-3 mpg increase with just a cam swap. That's the reality of things...

Cam swap and an 8 degree advanced cam gear (Also found at 3TECH) can get you 10 MPG max depending on the car, but in reality expect 3-7.

You think it's not worth it? I do drive almost 30K a year, and even if I gained 3 MPG that probably pays for it. though seriously, only 3 MPG? Why does the EPA rate the XFI so much higher than the normal 3 cyl if it's BS?

It's not BS because...............

The XFi was lighter, had a different PCM, and different pistons along with a few other tweaks. Just swapping in a cam does not make the regular Metro an XFi, just helps boost the current MPG's and it is a proven mod.

The biggest thing about an Xfi is the weight and transmission gearing. The cam and pcm are some of it but not all. I would check out re-grinding your current one, first that is a lot of cash for what they are selling. Just my .02

Thats a steel for an xfi I looked for over 2 years just to find a decent xfi that was within 500 miles of me. I finally found a good one for $1200 and it has 145k miles on it. Im not worried about the miles because the motor is excellent and the body has very little rust and none near the lower control arms in the front. Now that I have the car Im spending around $1000 to make it as close to perfect as possible. anything it needs its getting and then some.... A decent xfi is very hard to find and when you do find one they usually want a fortune for it. You got lucky finding one for $440...
