with 200,000kms on and an extra 700$ to replace the non-existent muffler, two ball joints, down table, tire rod, etc. It's basically worth 1000$ after all the repairs. I had the oil changed since it there was nothing the mechanic said.

Everything seems to be working fine except my MPG, I seem to be getting 32MPG. I asked the mechanic why am I getting just 32MPG when I should be getting something around like you guys are getting, minimum 39MPG! Any guesses? What should me do?

Cheers! :cheers

2 door hatchback
1.0 L
5 speed manual
grey color :D

btw i just experience my first winter driving... it was scary. the car doesn't sting to the ground, i gently press the breaks approaching the stop sign and it drifts.

oh oh and the needle for the Cold Hot thingy, when I heated the car it didn't go to the middle where it normally does go even after a good 30 min driving.. do I have anything to worry about or is normal in a -17C temperature (2 F)

Does it do this all the time now? Temp gauge should read in the middle at all times when warm. This tells me the T-stat may not be working and the engine is running cold which will contribute to poor fuel economy.

Well, there are many things that can contribute to fuel economy, so lets start right where I did with Christine by performing a compression test. This will inform us if the engine is working properly. It's also a good idea to do this since you just got the car. Compression readings should be no less than 156PSI in each cylinder.

Is there a difference?

I suppose you mean Multi-port or TBI?

Also, did they make a Multi-port 1.0?

Multi-port only applies to the 1.3L The 1.0L only had carb or TBI :news

That's what I was thinking Mullet. Just wanted to be sure.

Interesting why they never made a 1.0 with MPI. Much more efficient I would think. Cheaper with TBI ey?

Multi-port came on the Turbo models. If you look at your intake manifold, you will see a flat raised spot about the size of a nickel just before the head on each runner. The injectors would be here if you had a Turbo Metro.

ummm yeah. so what could be the problem behind my low MPG? im already 1/4 from being empty and i've driven barely 370 km (230miles). What components in my car should be looked closely?
